Antique Georgian Mahogany Tea Caddy With Fan and Floral Inlay

An antique Georgian mahogany antique single compartment tea caddy c.1800. The front, back, sides and top all have two fine lines of boxwood inlay. The centre of the lid has a fan shaped inlay which is surrounded by very fine inlay in a dot like pattern. The front of the caddy has a bone escutcheon below which is a floral inlay. The inner lift-off mahogany lid also has two lines of boxwood inlay to match the outer surfaces of the caddy. It has a bone knob. The underside of the lids is lined with a hand-marbled paper. It has a tasselled key for decorative purposes. Width 10.5cm. Depth 12cm. Height 13cm.
