Victorian Rosewood Ladies Travelling Box with Silver Fittings L.1851

An early Victorian rosewood brass bound and inlaid ladies travelling box by William Lund one of the best Victorian box makers. The lift up lid reveals 7 silver topped jars and containers. There is also a cylindrical container with lift off lid which reveals a powder brush which comes out and is then screwed into the bottom of the cylindrical container. This is a very rare item. The hallmarks are London 1851. The lift out tray reveals a small compartment with a lift off velvet lid. The underside of the lid has a drop down compartment which reveals the original lift out mirror, visiting card compartments and letter/paper storage flap. The measurements are approximately 12 1/2" wide, 8 1/2" deep and 5 1/4" high.
